10 Day Jewish and Israel Heritage Family Tour

Arrive in Israel. Meet a Noah Tours representative, who will assist through customs. Proceed to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv.

Breakfast at your hotel. We visit the Old Jaffa (Joppa) and the ancient Biblical port, taking a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town. We will continue through Rothschild Boulevard. We will Visit the Nachalat Binyamin (the arts and crafts open market), with its restored buildings and sidewalk artists. The tour continues to the colorful Carmel Market and then to Sheinkin, a trendy Tel Aviv shopping street. Free time in Tel Aviv for the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Tel Aviv

Drive north to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders’ city, the aqueduct, and the amphitheater which have been restored as a concert venue. Proceed to Haifa for a panoramic view from Mount. Drive on the Mediterranean shore to the City of Acre/ Akko, a UNESCO Site – the former capital of the Crusader kingdom and the birthplace of the Bahai religion. Walk along the old harbor city walls and local Oriental markets. Continue to the northernmost point of Israel at Rosh Hanikra. Descend by cable into the sea-sculpted, cave-cool, limestone grottoes- carved out of chalk cliffs resulting from the forceful dashing of the sea waves. Enjoy the wonderful colorful view coming from the blue lagoon waters. Dinner and overnight in the Kibbutz Hotel.

Drive to Safed, the ancient capital of Jewish mysticism, the center of the Kaballa movement. Visit the Joseph Caro and the Ha’Ari synagogues, the most important medieval synagogues in the city. Stroll around the Artists’ quarters’ galleries and see the small guesthouses & the private homes around. Continue to the Golan Heights; stop at an observation point over the city of Kuneitra and the Syrian territory. Stop at Tel Facher, a former Syrian army camp; visit the Banias springs. Next, a visit to Tel-Hai; see the “Roaring Lion” monument and learn about the heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920. Dinner and overnight in Kibbutz Hotel.

Drive to Tiberias to visit Rambam’s grave; proceed to Beit Shean, the biggest archeological park in Israel with beautiful excavations from the Roman and Byzantine periods. Stop at Beit Alpha to see the beautiful mosaic floor of a synagogue from the Byzantine period. Onto Gan Hashlosha (Sachne), where you will have an opportunity to enjoy the water springs located at the foot of the Gilboa mountain, the famous mountain on which King Saul was killed in the battle against the Philistines. Continue via the Jordan valley to Jerusalem. Upon entering Jerusalem, take a moment of reciting the ‘shehechiyanu’ blessing as traditionally recited upon entering Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

At the start of the morning, drive to the crest of Mt. of Olives where the entire city of Jerusalem unfolds before you. Visit the Kotel (Western Wall) for a prayer followed by a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels, the underground continuation of the Western Wall alongside the Temple Mount. Visit the four Sephardic synagogues restored after the 1967 war in the Jewish quarter; visit Davidson Center and walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road to the local Arab bazaar. Walkthrough Jaffa gate to David’s Tower museum and see the ancient remains of the city beginning with the first Temple period. Enjoy a traditional Friday night dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Free day relaxation. Breakfast at the hotel. Optional Shabbat worship services. Lunch on your own and leisure time afternoon. Then dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Visit Meah Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra-orthodox. Drive by the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and see the Menorah with the Biblical emblems. Next visit the Israel Museum, Shrine of the book where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed, and the new Holyland model – a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the Second Temple period. Drive to Mount Herzl, the military cemetery, and to the newly renovated Yad Vashem complex, the Jewish National Memorial to the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Visit the ammunition hill, a former Jordanian army stronghold, conquered by the Israeli army in the Six-Day War and converted into a national memorial site and museum. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Drive through the Judean Desert view heading to the Dead Sea location, the lowest place on earth (1200 ft. below sea level. Stop at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Continue to Masada; the last stronghold of the Zealots & the ancient fortress built by King Herod the Great) Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress; visit the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, the bathhouses, etc. Descend by cable car. At the Dead Sea, enjoy the unique experience of floating on the Dead Sea enjoying the therapeutic mud and mineral-rich water of the Dead Sea. Drive back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel then transfers to Ben Gurion Airport for flight back home.
