Israel Jewish Heritage and Egypt 14 Day Tour

Arrival at Tel Aviv International Airport. A Noah Tours representative will meet you after passport control and escort you to our vehicle. We will then transport you to your hotel.

Free day to rest in the hotel for Shabbat or to explore the beautiful city of Tel Aviv.

Experience the vibrant city with our best guides and visit the Jaffa Overlook to learn about the city’s rich history. Proceed to the Independence Hall, where Ben Gurion’s famous proclamation occurred. Walk across Rothschild Boulevard and get inspired by the Bauhaus-style buildings. Visit Carmel Market and get exposed to Israeli culture. Stroll down Shenkin Street and enjoy the Avant-Garde style. End the day in Tel Aviv.

Drive north to Caesarea, once the region’s Roman capital. See the excavations of the Crusaders’ City, the aqueduct, and the amphitheater restored as a concert venue. Proceed to Haifa for a panoramic view from Mount Carmel and an overlook of the Bahai Gardens. Drive to Acre; walk along the old harbor and local market. Continue to the northernmost point of Israel, Rosh Hanikra. Descend by cable car into the limestone grottoes. (Rosh Hanikra is available only in summer time.) Overnight in the Galilee.

Drive to Safed, the center of the Kabbalah movement; visit the Joseph Caro and Ha’Ari synagogues, the most important synagogues in the city, and stroll through the Artists’ Quarter. Short visit to Tel Hai near the border with Lebanon to see the Trupledor Roaring Lion Monument of Tel Hai. Afterward, proceed to an exciting ATV tour in the beautiful Golan Heights. From there, ascend Mt. Bental, a captivating dormant volcano, and hear some geopolitical insight into the region. Stop at an observation point over Quneitra and the Syrian territory. Next, walk along the alluring Banias Springs and watch the splendid waterfalls. End the day with an overnight in the Galilee.

Start the morning with a drive to the Jordan Valley and get inspired by the view; proceed to Beit Shean, the biggest archaeological park in Israel with beautiful excavations from the Roman and Byzantine periods. Stop at Beit Alpha to see the beautiful mosaic floor of a synagogue from the Byzantine period. Drive to the Dead Sea, one of the world’s great natural phenomena. Spend time at the Dead Sea, and enjoy its legendary healing powers at your Dead Sea Spa Hotel. Overnight at the Dead Sea.

After breakfast, travel to Masada, where you will take a cable car to the fortress. The history of the famous Jewish fortification will unfold before your eyes; the palaces built by King Herod, the synagogue and bathhouses used by the Jews. Descend Masada by cable car. Start your drive to Jerusalem. Drive to the crest of the Mt. of Olives where you will get a magnificent view of the entire city of Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Visit the Western Wall for some time to pray and/or reflect. Visit the Archaeological Park, the Southern Wall. From there we will continue to the Jewish Quarter. Walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road. We will also visit the Broad Wall, an ancient defensive wall, located in the Jewish Quarter, mentioned in the Tanach (Prophets) from the reign of King Hezekiah. If time permits additional sites in the Jewish Quarter. Free time in the Jewish quarter. We will finish our Tour at the Tower of David. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Enjoy free day on Shabbat to rest in the hotel or explore the beautiful city with its beautiful colors and lights. Walk to the Great Synagogue or the Western Wall for prayer. Visit the Israel Museum, where the Dead Sea scrolls are currently housed. At night, you will have an option to visit the Night Spectacle of David’s Tower (dependent upon availability).

Today will begin with a short city tour of New Jerusalem. We will visit the Israel Museum, Israel’s national museum, where you will see the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of the Second Temple—a visit to Israel’s official memorial to the Holocaust, Yad Vashem, located on Mt. Herzl. Continue the day with an exciting tour of the Mahane Yehuda Market (Shuk) and experience life as an Israeli. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Depart Jerusalem early and travel south to the Taba Border crossing into Egypt. After completing border formalities, continue through the Sinai Desert, taking in its dramatic landscapes. Arrive in St. Catherine, located at the foot of Mount Sinai. Overnight in St. Catherine.

An optional climb of Mount Sinai begins before dawn to reach the summit for sunrise. After descending, visit St. Catherine’s Monastery, subject to opening and access. Depart St. Catherine and travel across the Sinai Desert toward Cairo.

Begin the day at the Giza Plateau to see the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, along with the Sphinx. Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum to explore its collection and discover the history, art, and daily life of ancient Egypt.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Until next time!
