EVANGELICAL HOLY LAND TOUR - 10 DAYS

1 Day Arrival  - Tel Aviv

Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. Meeting with Noah Tours representative and transfer to the hotel in Tel Aviv.

 

2 Day Caesarea -  Mount Tabor - Mt. Gilboa - Yardenit

Visit Caesarea, once a proud Roman port city dating back to the time of Pontius Pilate. View the monumental Roman amphitheater built in the days of Christ. Continue to Mount Tabor, the site of Transfiguration. From the rooftop of the church we can enjoy a beautiful view of the Lower Galilee and the Plain of Jezreel. Proceed up to Mount Gilboa, where King Saul and his sons were killed by the Philistines and on the way back to the hotel stop at the Yardenit Baptismal site. Overnight at the Sea of Galilee.

 

3 Day Boat Ride - Mt. Beatitudes - Tabgha - Capernaum

After breakfast, boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked on the water. The ride will end at Ginnosar, where we shall visit the Ancient Boat from the time of Jesus that was found nearby. Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes to visit the heptagonal church built by the Italian architect Berluzzi. Proceed to Tabgha to visit the Church of the Loaves and the Fish. Driving along the North shores of the Sea of Galilee we shall reach Capernaum - the town of Jesus - where he lived in the house of Peter performing from there his miracles and healings.  Return to the hotel for overnight.

 

4 Day Golan Heights - Mt. Bental -  Caesarea Philippi - Tel Dan

After breakfast drive to the Golan Heights. Climb the Mount Bental, with a view of the Golan Height to Mount Hermon and into Syria. Continue to the Banyas, the ancient Caesarea Philippi- one of the main sources of the Jordan River. On to Tel Dan, the capital city of the Dan tribe and to the Dan Springs. Return to the hotel for overnight.

 

5 Day Nazareth - Megiddo - Muhraka

After breakfast drive to Nazareth via Cana, to visit Mary's Well, see the cliff where the crowd was going to push Jesus off and visit Nazareth Village. Then through the Jezreel Plain on to Megiddo, named also Armageddon the place where the last battle of mankind is due to take place. Visit the Museum and this 5,000 year old city with the Gates from the times of King Solomon, the old Canaanite temples and the water tunnel from the time of King Ahab. Proceed to Mount Carmel to visit the Monastery of the Muhraka, where Elijah fought with the Baal priests. From the roofs of this Monastery we have a beautiful view of the Jezreel Plain. Return to the hotel for overnight.

 

6 Day  Ein Gedi - Qumran - Dead Sea - Jerusalem

After breakfast drive along the Jordan Valley and the shores of the Dead Sea to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David was hidden from King Saul. Walking tour in the Nahal David till the waterfalls and then back to the bus to drive to Qumran, the city of the Essens, where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in a cave by a shepherd. After a short break, possibility to "dip" and "float" in the salty water of the Dead Sea, the world's lowest place. Dinner and overnight at Jerusalem.

 

7 Day  Abu Ghosh - Emmaus - Beit Shemesh - Beer Sheba

After breakfast drive to Abu Gosh, the biblical Kiryat Ye'arim, from where the Ark of the Covenant was for 20 years during King Saul's reign. Driving via Emmaus (Jesus appeared to two believers on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection) proceed to Beit Guvrin where there are archaelogical digs revealing ancient dwellings. Visit the Elah Valley, where David fought with Goliath. Proceed to Beersheba, the city of Abraham, to visit Abraham's Well where Abraham and Avimelech swore not to fight against each other. Overnight in Jerusalem.

 

8 Day Mt. of Olives - Garden Tomb - City of David - Israel Museum

Ascend the Mount of Olives to have a wonderful panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem with the Temple Mount. Drive to the Garden of Gethsemane, the place where Jesus was arrested, to see the old olive trees. In the area of Golgotha (place of the skull) and the Garden Tomb, we celebrate the resurrection with communion and time for worship and prayer. Proceed along the Kidron Valley for a panoramic view of the Tomb of Absalom, the Tomb of the priests' family B'nei Chanzir and the Monument to Zechariah. Visit the City of David and the Shiloah Pool. Visit the Israel Museum with its Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea scrolls are kept, then see the Menorah in front of the Knesset - the Israeli Parliament. Overnight in Jerusalem.

 

9 Day Jerusalem Old City - Mount Zion - Via Dolorosa - Wailing Wall

After breakfast drive to the Lion's Gate and walk into the Old City to visit the Church of St. Anne and the Pool of Bethesda. Proceed through the Via Dolorosa. After the visits, walking through the colorful bazaar reach the Jewish Quarter, visit the Cardo and the excavated Herodian Quarter. Walk to the Wailing Wall - the holiest place for the Jews - and drive to Mount Zion to visit the Room of the Last Supper and the Tomb of King David. Overnight in Jerusalem.

 

10 Day Departure

Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure flight.
