Visa Required Entry to Israel

If you hold a different passport, you may need to apply for a visa at an Israeli embassy near you.

As tour operators, we cannot influence any decision to grant or deny a visa.
Once you book a tour with us, we’ll send you an invitation letter to help you get your visa. With the letter in hand, simply visit the nearest Israeli consulate or embassy.
If you have a minimum of 10 people or more joining our group tours, we can apply for the visa on your behalf.

Understanding Transit Visas to Israel

You will need a transit visa if you have a connecting flight through Israel. With a transit visa, you will also be given one when arriving in Israel as long as you are eligible for a standard tourist visa.   If you are not eligible for a standard tourist visa, you must apply for the transit visa beforehand.

A guide to applying for a visa to Jordan for both the airport or a border

Many travelers can get a visa upon arrival in Jordan at the border or airport.
The visa to Jordan costs USD $60 per person. However, the good news is that if you stay for two nights or more, the Jordanian visa is free, and you can see more of the country!!

The best way to apply is to contact your nearest Jordanian embassy. They can provide you with the information required.

Planned Jordan Entry: A Guide to Obtaining a Visa in Advance

Travelers from other countries, such as the one below, must apply for visas in advance.
You can apply for a Jordanian visa at the nearest Jordanian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

Crossing a border from Israel to Jordan

Crossing a border between Israel and Jordan may seem confusing, but the process is simple.
Please remember that the same visa is required at any border crossing, as it is at the airport.

We recommend crossing at the Arava Border in the South or the Sheikh Hussein Border in the North.
Allenby Border is another border to consider.

Jordan Border Departure tax and VAT refund

When you reach the border, you must pay the Israel departure tax, approximately (USD)$32 per person (depending on the current exchange rate). If you are traveling with Noah Tours, this will be taken care of in advance—one less thing to worry about!
If you do not hold an Israeli passport, this is also your chance to get VAT (Value Added Tax) back on some items you may have purchased during your visit.
The Israeli representative will ask to see the purchased items and the receipt, so it’s best to save them as much as possible.

If you cross the border from Jordan to Israel, a departure tax of  10 JOD (Jordanian Dinar) per person will be required (approximately (USD) $15 per person, dependent on the current exchange rate).

Jordan Passport and Border Crossing

Finally, after passing through the departure tax unit, Israeli passport control, and the VAT refund representative, it’s time to move on to your next destination!

If you cross at the Arava Border, you will walk straight into Jordan with your luggage for approximately 300 meters.
If you are crossing at the Sheikh Hussein Border, you will need to take a shuttle from the Israeli side to the Jordanian side.

Border Security and Customs

Just as in any other country, when entering Jordan from Israel / Israel from Jordan, you must go through security.
This usually consists of putting your luggage through an X-ray machine, walking through a metal detector, and answering a few questions.
Border security checks are routine. Take your time, be patient, and have a great adventure in Jordan!

Important note: Do not bring souvenirs with Jewish symbols when visiting Jordan, as they may be confiscated at the border.

Transit visa for Jordan

If you pass through the Jordan Airport and have a connecting flight within 72 hours, you may enter without a transit visa as long as you do not leave the airport.

Navigating the Visa Process: A Guide for Obtaining an Egyptian Visa in Advance

Traveling from one of the countries listed below? You must apply for a visa at the Egyptian embassy in advance.

Although we can’t influence the visa decision, booking a tour with Noah Tours has benefits. We’ll provide an invitation letter to assist with your application.
You will then take it to your nearest Egyptian embassy to apply for the visa.

Transit visa for Egypt

No transit visa is required if you stay or leave the airport for under 48 hours. If you need one, it is similar to getting a regular visa to Israel, Jordan and Egypt and the requirements for a transit visa tend to be similar to those of a regular visa.

Most travelers need to arrange a transit visa to Egypt ahead of time. Once you have your passport and a valid flight ticket, you can apply for one. Much like Jordan, the decision will be made in accordance with the length of your stay between connecting flights and your passport’s nationality.
